Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Float Nurse for Big Rapids Hospital. The role supports Med Surg, ICU, ED, and OB with cross-training and a pay incentive for Float work. The unit values safety, collaboration, and high-quality patient care.

Expect night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. with a 36-hour weekly schedule and full benefits. Michigan RN licensure and BLS are required for consideration.

Qualifications

• Nursing degrees required
• RN in Michigan with state licensure
• BLS or ACLS as required within 90 days
• Professional standards per ANA guidance

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care per ANA standards and nursing process
• Provide safe, patient-centered care across units as a float nurse
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes
• Maintain professional performance and participate in education and research

Scope of work

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
