Job summary

Lutheran Life Communities' Luther Oaks in Bloomington, IL seeks a Director of Nursing – Registered Nurse to lead the 19-bed skilled nursing unit, collaborating with therapy, culinary, resident life, maintenance, finance, and sales teams to shape day-to-day care and ensure every resident and staff member is known.

This hands-on leadership role requires an Illinois RN license, a Bachelor’s degree in nursing (or at least 4 years of long-term/geriatric nursing experience), and minimum 5 years of

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or 4+ years of long-term/geriatric nursing experience.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience developing and implementing operational policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day clinical operations for the 19-bed skilled nursing unit with cross-functional collaboration.
• Lead quality assurance and risk management initiatives and track KPIs.
• Serve as the primary contact between residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Manage department budgets, labor costs, supplies, and documentation systems.
• Guide survey readiness and ensure regulatory compliance with corrective action plans.
• Recruit, coach, and mentor clinical staff; schedule staffing based on acuity.
• Provide on-call leadership support as needed.
