Position Summary

The RN Director of Nursing plans, organizes, develops, and directs the Nursing department to ensure high-quality patient care in compliance with all laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, And Licensure Requirements

• Minimum of an ASN degree from an accredited college or university
• Active RN license in applicable state, maintained in good standing
• Two (2) years supervisory experience in post-acute care or related setting
• CPR certification upon hire or during orientation, and maintained current

Specific Job Requirements

• Participate in community health projects as appropriate
• Coordinate with patients, families, and support departments to meet patient needs
• Collect, analyze, and manage data
• Demonstrate expert knowledge in the field
• Make independent decisions when necessary
• Understand laws, regulations, and procedures governing post-acute care
• Implement department programs, goals, policies, and procedures
• Maintain professional relationships and confidentiality
• Follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures

Essential Functions

• Develop and evaluate staff, manage budgets, and oversee care quality
• Recruit, train, evaluate, and supervise nursing staff
• Assign staff appropriately per shift
• Manage department within budget
• Provide direct care as needed
• Ensure excellent customer service and patient safety
• Participate in patient evacuation if necessary
• Maintain dependable attendance and good judgment
• Communicate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
• Perform physical activities required during work hours
• Proficient in English language skills
