Description: Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for our Same Day Surgery unit on evenings. The RN is accountable for planning and evaluating services in the OPSU/PACU and demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary for providing care for the pre and/or post operative care of the ambulatory patient. The care provided is appropriate to the age of the patient services, to include pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatric patient group.

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is a 45-bed hospital serving rural and suburban populations. It offers high-quality, compassionate care with advanced cardiac and emergency services. As part of the Conemaugh Health System, it serves over half a million patients annually.

Qualifications include:

1. Plans, organizes, and evaluates services in the OPSU/PACU.
2. Promotes high-quality patient care.
3. Utilizes effective cost containment.
4. Manages patient care in the OPSU and/or PACU.
5. Develops and updates nursing care plans.
6. Provides psychosocial support.
7. Discusses operational concerns with anesthesia staff.
8. Orders and maintains supplies.
9. Participates in PI Projects.
10. Reviews incident reports and implements changes.
11. Performs rapid assessments and documents patient data accurately.
12. Educates self, patients, and team members.

Organizational expectations include supporting hospital policies, compliance, confidentiality, quality improvement, flexibility, professionalism, diversity, and mandatory training.

Job requirements:

1. Graduate of RN program; BSc preferred.
2. Current PA nurse license or multistate license.
3. Experience in Medical/Surgical nursing preferred; Critical Care experience for PACU preferred.
4. BLS required; ACLS and BTNC within specified timeframes.
5. Physical stamina, computer skills, independence, and communication skills.
