Job Description
Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for our Same Day Surgery unit on evenings. The RN is responsible for planning and evaluating services in the OPSU/PACU, providing care for pre and/or post-operative ambulatory patients across all age groups, including pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics.

Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate services in the OPSU/PACU.
- Promote high-quality patient care and effective cost management.
- Manage patient care in OPSU and PACU without deviation from standards.
- Develop, implement, and update nursing care plans for ambulatory surgical patients.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients, families, and staff.
- Discuss operational concerns with CRNAs and anesthesiologists as needed.
- Order and maintain supplies for OPSU/PACU.
- Participate in PI projects and review incident reports for quality improvement.
- Perform rapid assessments differentiating short and long-term needs peri-anesthesia.
- Document patient data, interventions, and responses accurately and timely.
- Educate self, patients, families, and team members; participate in preoperative assessments.

Minimum Requirements
- Graduate of an RN program; BSN preferred.
- Current PA nursing license or multistate license.
- Experience in medical-surgical nursing; critical care preferred for PACU.
- BLS certification; ACLS and BTNC or equivalents within specified timelines.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and computer literacy.
- Successful completion of orientation and probationary periods.
