The position involves perioperative patient care, monitoring conditions, administering medications, educating patients and families, and participating in emergency protocols as needed.

Qualifications

• Active New York State Nursing License in good standing.
• Previous experience in open heart/cardiothoracic nursing is mandatory.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Education: ADN required; BSN preferred.

Schedule

This position offers a 12-hour day shift from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM, with expectations of 36 hours per week plus call.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Open Heart / Cardiothoracic Registered Nurse to join our team. This role requires a compassionate and skilled individual who has previous experience in the open heart/cardiothoracic specialty. The candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing open heart and cardiothoracic procedures.
• Monitor patient conditions and manage medications and treatments as necessary.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about conditions and healthy living.
• Participate in emergency care procedures as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active New York State Nursing License in good standing.
• Previous experience in open heart/cardiothoracic nursing is mandatory.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
• Educational background: Associate's degree in Nursing; a Baccalaureate degree is preferred.
