Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU Stepdown unit on a part-time basis, with day and night shifts. The role focuses on transitioning intermediate-acuity patients from critical care to Med/Surg, using evidence-based care plans and exact hand-offs.

You will collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and the care team to promote patient safety and recovery, with opportunities for professional growth and a supportive Mercy culture.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• BSN preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide high-quality care for intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg level.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence-based practices.
• Perform accurate hand-offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post-ICU), and support recovery.
• Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
