Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking an experienced RN for a part-time ICU Stepdown role in Missouri. The position supports intermediate-acuity patient care during transitions from critical care to Med/Surg, with day and night shifts.

The RN will assess and implement individualized care plans, perform hand-offs, collaborate with the care team, and monitor complex conditions to promote recovery and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.
• BSN preferred or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care for intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence-based practice.
• Perform accurate hand-offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners.
• Administer medications, monitor complex conditions, support recovery.
• Participate in huddles, governance, and unit-based quality improvement.
