Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN) for our ICU Stepdown team in Missouri. This part-time role covers 24 hours per week, with day and night shifts, delivering high-quality care to intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg.

Qualified candidates will have an accredited nursing degree (ADN/ Diploma/ BSN) and Missouri RN licensure (or compact). BLS is required; ACLS/NIHSS/PCCN are preferred, with opportunities for growth and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• BSN preferred.
• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.
• BLS required; ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care for intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence-based practices.
• Perform accurate hand-offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post-ICU), and support recovery.
• Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
