Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for adolescents with acute and chronic medical conditions, behavioral health concerns, substance use disorders, and developmental needs.
• Conduct intake health screenings, administer medications and treatments, respond to medical emergencies, monitor youth in medical observation, coordinate care with physicians and mental health professionals, maintain accurate health records, and provide age-appropriate health care.
• Work in a locked forensic environment with frequent interactions with law enforcement.

Shift Details:

• 8-Hours Shift

RN Duties & Responsibilities:

• RNs will be assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for adolescents with acute and chronic medical conditions, behavioral health concerns, substance use disorders, and developmental needs.

• RNs will be conducting intake health screenings, administering medications and treatments, responding to medical emergencies, monitoring youth in medical observation, coordinating care with physicians and mental health professionals, maintaining accurate health records, and providing age‑appropriate health.

• Individuals should be comfortable working in a locked forensic environment with frequent interactions with law enforcement.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

• Minimum of one (1) year recent experience as a Registered Nurse in-patient experience within a secure juvenile detention facility

• AHA BLS Certification

• MAB or CPI

• LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (must be LA City)

• Must complete the LA County Employee Health Clearance before assignment start date

• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., . BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client‑specific requirements)
