Job summary

LewisGale Hospital Pulaski in Pulaski, VA seeks a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) for the Medical Surgical Unit to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care across shifts. The CNC collaborates with management to direct nursing care, serve as a resource, and support organizational goals and values.

The role emphasizes admission/discharge coordination, quality assessment, staff development, and patient-first service.

Qualifications

• RN license and certification required.
• ACLS to be obtained within 6 months of start date.
• BLS to be obtained within 90 days of start date.
• 2 years RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit, with the management team.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts and managers to foster teamwork for improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Operationalizes nursing strategies including hourly rounds to improve engagement.
• Provides recommendations on interviewing, selecting, and training staff; supports performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management according to patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Assists with inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
