Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• BSN required.
• RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must enroll in a BSN program within 1 year of Hire/Transfer date and must complete program within 3 years of enrollment in the program.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• Professional certification within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Supports the manager utilizing systematic approaches to enhance nursing practice and delivery of care.
• Assists with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel.
• Coordinates communication via regular shifts, staff meetings, and huddles to exchange information.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state laws and policies.
• Rounds on patients, teammates, and physicians to assess patient care and department operations.
• Delegates care to appropriate healthcare workers within policy.
• Assists in identifying expected outcomes and evaluates progress toward goals.
• Performs nursing care, assists with treatments and administers medications as needed.
• Coordinates patient flow and staffing based on volume and acuity.
