Job summary

Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the GI/Colorectal Surgical Floor (4 Palm) on a full-time basis. The unit provides post-operative care for GI/colorectal patients and related diagnoses.

3, 12-hour night shifts per week with holiday and weekend rotations are expected. Qualified candidates have completed an accredited nursing program, hold a current RN license, have at least 6 months RN experience, and possess BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 6 months RN experience; not for new grads.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Nurse Case Managers and Social Workers to arrange referrals for chemotherapy, home care, and blood draws.
• Stay current with changes in policies or procedures relevant to the unit.
• Coordinate lab work, growth factors, and transfusions before the next treatment session.
• Consult Oncology Pharmacists on dose adjustments and drug interactions.
• Consult with Attending Physician regarding patient toxicities and dosing.
