Responsibilities include coordinating orientation, conducting ongoing education, ensuring policy updates, documenting training hours, and preparing for surveys. Requires CT RN license and at least 1 year in long-term care staff development.

Qualifications

• CT RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year of long-term care staff development experience.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, references check & physical evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Orientation: Coordinate and conduct orientation programs for newly hired staff.
• Skills Validation: Perform and document competency assessments and skills validation.
• Skills Education: Educate staff on various clinical skill and protocols as needed.
• In Servicing: Plan, schedule, and execute mandatory continuing education and in-service training.
• Policy Education: Train staff on updates to facility policies, procedures, and new equipment.
• Documentation: Monitor & maintain up-to-date records of all education and training hours.
• Identify Gaps: Identify educational needs based on quality reviews, incident reports, and audits.
• Survey Readiness: Assist in preparing for count/state Department of Health or CMS surveys.
