Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks an experienced RN to support patient-centered care in a busy medical office. You will document visits in EPIC, review histories and vitals, and assist with injections, phlebotomy and lab testing under provider guidance.

Responsibilities include patient education, discharge planning, coordinating referrals, and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Prior office experience and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Experience in a medical office setting preferred.
• Current license to practice as registered nurse in the state of Iowa or compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• MandatoryReporter training for Iowa Dependent Adult and Iowa Child Abuse.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and document patient encounters in EPIC documentation tools.
• Review patient histories, allergies, medications and vitals.
• Administer injections, collect specimens for lab testing and perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Provide patient education using approved materials and discharge instructions.
• Schedule follow-ups and coordinate referrals as directed by the provider.
• Follow safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions.
