Job summary

UNC Health Johnston in North Carolina is seeking an RN Clinical Nurse II for Labor & Delivery. This full-time, on-site role offers either 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am shifts with weekend rotation and reports to the Nurse Manager/Director.

The unit provides care to normal and high-risk laboring patients in a Level II setting. The department handles ~2000 births yearly across two campuses (Smithfield and Clayton), with 13 labor rooms, 4 triage rooms, and 2 operating rooms; anesthesia coverage is 24/7,

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent clinical nursing care according to professional standards.
• Educate patients and families using appropriate materials.
• Coordinate and deliver patient care using nursing process in hospital setting.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients with complex needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to achieve outcomes.
