Job summary

UNC Health Johnston is seeking an RN Clinical Nurse II for Labor & Delivery in Clayton, NC. The unit handles normal and high-risk labor and antepartum patients, with around 2000 babies per year and 13 labor rooms.

The role requires nursing licensure in NC, BLS certification, and at least one year of experience. Schedule includes 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am with weekend rotation; full-time benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
• One year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and meet learning needs; use patient education materials.
• Evaluate care with interdisciplinary team; promote continuity of care.
• Provide care for patients with complex needs; prioritize and organize care.
• Develop goals for professional growth; promote interdepartmental collaboration.
• Assess patient data to determine priorities and discharge planning needs.
• Plan care with patient/family; use multidisciplinary resources.
• Read journals and discuss practices for applicability.
