Job summary

UNC Health Johnston's Labor & Delivery unit in Clayton, NC is seeking a RN Clinical Nurse II to provide competent nursing care in a Level II center. The schedule includes 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am with weekend rotation and 24/7 anesthesia coverage for high-risk cases.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, you will educate patients, coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, and support discharge planning. Requirements include NC RN licensure, BLS, and at least one year of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina (NC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification required.
• One (1) year of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs and educate patients/families.
• Evaluation of care: determine expected outcomes and discuss with the care team.
• Implementation: provide care for patients with complex problems and coordinate resources.
• Leadership: assist in achieving unit goals and promote interdepartmental collaboration.
• Patient assessment: assess data to determine priorities and plan discharge needs.
• Planning: collaborate with patient/family to update the plan of care and resources for planning.
