Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Development Specialist to support home health care teams. You will mentor nurses, coordinate orientation within the POD/region, and guide graduates toward independent practice, helping patients heal where they feel most comfortable at home.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the applicable state.
• Experience in development and delivery of clinical education and mentoring.
• OASIS certification within three months of hire or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of home health care and competency in discipline-specific patient care skills.
• Coordinates orientation activities for new nursing and other disciplines in POD/region.
• Facilitates learning experiences for mentees, including graduate nurses, through mentoring and role modeling.
• Provides dedicated mentoring and oversight to new graduates as identified in the New Graduate Nurse program.
• Plans specific learning experiences to promote new knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Performs field ride-along visits as part of orientation.
• Provides timely feedback to mentees on orientation and performance.
• Evaluates and documents mentee progress toward independence.
• Advocates for additional training needs and performs other duties as assigned.
