Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking an RN to join the Clinical Decision Unit on a full-time night shift. You will provide direct nursing care, assess patients, and coordinate with the care team to meet evolving needs.

You will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, document care accurately, and pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications. A BSN is preferred, with current RN licensure and BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing is required.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross is required.
• BSN is preferred but not required.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma/ADN/BSN).
• Experience in acute care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments and respond to changes in condition.
• Develop and update goals, involve patients/families, and advocate for patients.
• Administer treatments and medications and document appropriately.
• Participate in interdisciplinary evaluation of outcomes and quality improvement.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in care, and serve as a patient advocate.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes.
• Contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
• Delegate tasks and serve as a resource person.
• Pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications.
• Maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit.

Requirements

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program) required.
• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience:

• Experience in acute care preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required.
