Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking an RN for the Acute Care Orthopedic Surgery and Ortho Trauma Unit in Akron, OH. You will provide direct nursing care and support to patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries in a collaborative environment.

This full-time night shift role emphasizes patient-centered care, interdisciplinary teamwork and ongoing education to advance clinical practice within the orthopedic/surgical unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN) required.
• BSN preferred.
• Experience in acute care preferred.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involving patients and families in care plans.
• Coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Administer treatments and medications, and document care provided.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes.
• Contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
• Delegate tasks and serve as a resource person for the team.
• Pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications.
