Job summary

Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, AL is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator/Educator to oversee a specific clinical unit on assigned shifts. Under the direction of the Department Director and Patient Care Manager, you will help ensure safe patient care using nursing processes and serve as a clinical resource for staff.

This role partners with the Professional Development Department to verify staff education compliance and regular competency assessments.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted Alabama RN license or multi-state license.
• BSN preferred.
• 5 years of RN experience preferred, 3 years recent L&D experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee unit operations on assigned shifts in line with hospital policies.
• Provide education and serve as a clinical resource for staff during shifts.
• Collaborate with Department Director and PCM to ensure safe patient care and competency assessment.
• Work with Professional Development to ensure education compliance and annual competency reviews.

Job description

FT 4 10 hour shifts per week, M-F with leadership call rotation.

Under the direction of the Department Director, and Patient Care Manager (PCM), the Clinical Nurse Coordinator/Educator is responsible on a shift basis for the operations of a specific clinical unit such that it complies with hospital and nursing philosophy, policies, and procedures. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator/Educator assists the Department Director and or Patient Care Manager (s) in ensuring the delivery of safe patient care through the nursing process by assisting with patient care issues, providing education and serving as clinical resource to staff during the assigned shift. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator works with the Professional Development Department to ensure all staff are compliant with required education and routinely assess the clinical competencies for appropriate staff. rec:max

Current unrestricted AL or Multi State RN licensure; BSN preferred. 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred, 3 years recent L&D experience.
