The Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY, seeks a Nurse Supervisor to coordinate the MDS program and oversee nursing staff for a long-term care facility.

Must hold Kentucky RN licensure with at least two years of RN experience; a BSN can substitute for one year. The role includes precepting, education, billing coordination, and CMS communication while ensuring compliant patient care.

Qualifications

• Must have two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Responsabilités

• Supervise nursing staff in the MDS process and coordinate staff schedules to ensure program coverage.
• Precept new staff and provide ongoing education and training related to MDS and skilled care documentation.
• Track Medicare beneficiary benefit periods and validate eligibility for Medicare Part A skilled services.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to determine skilled medical necessity for residents.
• Review and audit MDS assessments, resident care plans, and clinical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide training and guidance to nursing staff regarding documentation standards and skilled care requirements.
• Coordinate with finance staff to ensure billing accuracy and alignment with diagnoses and medical documentation.
• Communicate with CMS and managed care organizations to support authorization and continuation of benefits.
• Maintain the Prospective Payment System (PPS) schedule for residents utilizing Medicare benefits.
• Assist with floor nursing coverage when needed, including medication administration, treatments, and emergency response.
