Job summary

A healthcare staffing agency is seeking a dynamic nurse to join their team in a 9-bed ICU in Hawaii. The position involves caring for a maximum of 2 patients per nurse, with potential for med/surg overflow assignments. Nurses will work 12-hour shifts, totaling 72 hours bi-weekly. A valid PALS certification is mandatory. The role may require floating to other departments and includes additional benefits such as health insurance and a 401k plan.

Job description

Join a dynamic team in a 9-bed ICU, where the nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1 unless a 1:1 ratio is indicated. This position includes the potential for med/surg overflow assignments, which may increase the patient load to 3 or 4 patients per nurse. Additional responsibilities may arise with stable pediatric patients, as unstable pediatric cases are transferred to a higher level of care. Each shift will consist of a minimum of three nurses. If appointed to charge nurse duties, an additional compensation of $2.00 per hour will be provided. Floating to other departments to assist without taking a team of patients may be required, depending on the needs of the facility.

Schedule

This position operates on a 12-hour shift schedule, with either day or night shifts available. Nurses will work a total of 72 hours every two weeks.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a valid PALS certification.
