Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville seeks a skilled RN for the Cath Lab Holding role. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac and peripheral procedure patients in the holding area and chest pain unit, while supervising team members and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

• RN licensed nurse with a degree in nursing (Diploma/Associate/Bachelor/Master).
• Experience in cardiac or holding area care preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care for cardiac and peripheral procedural patients in the holding room and chest pain unit.
• Supervise assigned staff and collaborate with the care team to deliver nursing care per hospital policies.
• Demonstrate EKG interpretation, monitor post-procedure status, and report abnormal values to physicians.
• Accurately input ACC data and uphold patient safety and documentation standards.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care members. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the direct and indirect total nursing care of his/her patient assignment. Responsible for the supervision of assigned personnel. The holding room nurse and chest pain unit nurse are responsible for but not limited to: the care of cardiac/peripheral procedural patients, post sheath removal, recognition of groin complications, EKG interpretation, abnormal lab value recognition and reporting of these values to the physician, input of ACC data. This position requires knowledge of both department and hospital policies and procedures relevant to the delivery of nursing care. Interpretive skills, frequent interactive and consultative associations, along with management and supervisory skills are inherent in the position. The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory, or visual fashion is essential. The primary method to express or exchange ideas is through the spoken word. Written, telephone, and manual dexterity skills are required for the position.
