Job summary

UW Health is hiring an experienced RN to lead our new Intermediate Care (IMC) unit at University Hospital in Madison. This role focuses on front‑line leadership, staffing optimization, and delivering high‑acuity care to adults in a 16‑bed IMC setting.

You will mentor nurses, oversee quality improvement projects, and partner with management on hiring and operations while ensuring safe, compassionate patient care and optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN license required in WI or compact.
• Current CPR/BLS, ACLS within 6 months.
• 2+ years inpatient experience required.
• 3+ years in acute inpatient unit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the new IMC unit as a front‑line leader with a strong interdisciplinary team.
• Mentor nurses, drive quality initiatives and track clinical metrics.
• Partner with management on unit hiring, patient experience and operational strategy.
• Resolve complex clinical and operational challenges through collaboration across teams.
