Job summary

UW Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join a brand-new 16-bed hospitalist intermediate care unit at University Hospital in Madison, WI. The role offers 60% FTE with 8/12 hour day/night shifts (7:00am–7:30pm or 7:00pm–7:30am) and weekend/holiday rotation.

This state-of-the-art unit specializes in high-acuity care for adults and provides learning opportunities in a collaborative, evidence-based environment with a focus on safe patient transitions from ICU to intermediate care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current or prior RN experience in relevant inpatient units is required.
• Licensure as RN in WI or other compact‑state is required upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification upon hire; ACLS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care to adults in a 16-bed intermediate care unit.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe transitions from ICU to intermediate care.
• Deliver evidence-based care and uphold high standards of patient communication and safety.
