Job summary

Tidewell Hospice, part of Empath Health, is seeking an RN to provide compassionate care for terminally ill patients in the Gulf Coast region. The role emphasizes coordinating patient and family needs, delivering preventive and supportive care, and supervising LPNs or aides in the GIP environment.

You will report to the Care Center Manager and may float to needed units. Florida licensed RNs with recent bedside experience are preferred and must hold a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year bedside nursing experience.
• Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Florida RN license required.
• Florida driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate patient/family needs and provide preventive and supportive care to terminally ill patients/families.
• Utilize assessment, intervention and teaching to maximize comfort and quality of life for patients/families.

Schedule: 8:00 PM to 8:30 AM

What you’ll Do:

• Is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit.
• Utilizes assessment, intervention and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life to the patient/family unit.
• Provides oversight and supervision of the LPN and/or aide for the delivery of patient care in the GIP environment.
• The RN reports to Patient/Family Care Coordinator/Care Center Manager.
• Required to float if needed.

What You’ll Need

• Position Requirements minimum of 1 year recent bedside nursing
• Education and/or Experience: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Minimum of or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licensure:
  Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License
• Minimum of 1 year of current active nursing experience; with experience in caring for terminally ill patients or those with life threatening illnesses preferred; prefer one (1) year experience in an acute or post acute care setting.
