Job summary

Empath Health's Tidewell Hospice unit is seeking an Admissions RN to assess eligibility and advocate for appropriate access across care settings. You will complete admissions per program guidelines, ensuring patient-centered care and effective coordination with the care team.

The role emphasizes compliance with regulations, strong customer service, and accurate EMR documentation, with opportunities for growth and mission-driven impact in a Full Life Care network across Florida.

Qualifications

• RN license in Florida and current CPR certification.
• Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent required.
• Experience in hospice or home health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete admission process per care program guidelines and patient needs.

What you’ll Do

• The Admissions RN is a first responder who assesses eligibility for Empath Health Network of Care while advocating for optimal access to the right care at the right time in any care setting.
• The Admissions RN completes the admission process based on care program specifics, guidelines, and patient-specific needs.
• This RN exhibits passion for the services we offer while engaging in mission support, and portrays excellence in customer service and relationship-building internally and externally.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory standards, State, Federal and others. Ensure all visit codes and branch codes comply with EMR billing

What You’ll Need

• Education and/or Experience: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Minimum of or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licensure: Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse Valid Florida State Driver’s License
• Certifications: Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 50 lbs.
• The ability to type 25 wpm is highly preferred. Must receive a passing grade on a pre-employment computer literacy evaluation.
• For field-based positions, employees must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee’s HR file.
