Job summary

Suncoast Hospice, a part of Empath Health, is seeking a caring Hospice Care Center Registered Nurse to work at our Care Center on a night shift (8pm-8am) with every-other-weekend coverage. The RN provides end-of-life care, coordinates patient/family needs, and supervises LPN/aide care in the GIP environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year recent bedside nursing experience.
• Experience with terminally ill or palliative care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate patient/family needs; provide preventive and supportive care.
• Use assessment, intervention and teaching to maximize patient comfort and quality of life.
• Provide oversight of LPN and/or aide care; RN reports to Care Center Manager.
• May float to other units when needed.

Suncoast Hospice , a part of Empath Health is seeking a caring and motivated Hospice Care Center Registered Nurse to work with us at our Care Center while providing exceptional care.

Schedule: Night shift 8p-8a every other weekend

What you’ll Do:

• Is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit.

• Utilizes assessment, intervention and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life to the patient/family unit.

• Provides oversight and supervision of the LPN and/or aide for the delivery of patient care in the GIP environment. The RN reports to Patient/Family Care Coordinator/Care Center Manager.

• Required to float if needed.

What You’ll Need

• Position Requirements minimum of 1 year recent bedside nursingEducation and/or Experience: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Minimum of or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• . Licensure:

• Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse

• Valid Florida State Driver’s License

• Minimum of 1 year of current active nursing experience; with experience in caring for terminally ill patients or those with life threatening illnesses preferred; prefer one (1) year experience in an acute or post acute care setting.
