Job summary

Empath Health in Florida is offering a Nurse Resident program designed to prepare new graduates for certification as a Hospice Nurse. You will join a 3:1 resident/clinical coach team in a Hospice House, with rotation across Home, ALF, and Admissions services.

The role includes a 40-hour work week, typically 3x12 hour shifts, weekly classroom education, six months of hands-on coaching, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Comprehensive benefits and education support are provided.

Qualifications

• Recent grads welcome to apply! Must have less than 1 year of RN experience for the residency program.
• ASN or BSN degree from an accredited program required.
• Current Florida RN License or multi-state compact license required.
• Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Prefers clinical experience with hospice or ALF patients.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and have means of transportation.
• Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.

Responsibilities

• Provide care within a 3:1 Nurse Resident / Clinical Coach ratio in a hospice setting.
• Participate in weekly classroom education and exams for certification.
• Complete a 40-hour work week with 3x12 hour shifts.
• Engage in six months of practical experience with a Hospice Clinical Coach.
• Rotate with other hospice teams and service lines.
• No Medical/surgical experience required.
• Transition to team with orientation as needed.

What you’ll Do

• Schedule: 40 hours per week. Typically, 3x12 hour shifts in the Hospice House and 4 hours of clinical education per week.
• Six months of practical experience facilitated by a Hospice Clinical Coach/Preceptor in a hospice house setting.
• Scheduled rotations with other hospice teams as well as theHome, ALF, and Admissions service lines.
• No Medical/surgical experience necessary
• The Nurse Resident joins his or her new team in the seventh month with continued individualized orientation as needed.
• $5,000 sign-on bonus!
