Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled RN for the Cardiac Cath Lab in Cleveland, Ohio. You'll work with a dedicated team, providing nursing care and support to patients undergoing cardiac procedures.

The ideal candidate should have a nursing degree and appropriate certifications, along with experience in acute care settings. The position offers a pay range of $35.50 - $55.60 per hour, along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through AHA or American Red Cross.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • One year of recent experience as an RN or 2 years of LPN experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services.
  • Assess patients, document findings and notify physicians of abnormalities.
  • Perform nursing procedures, administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance.

As an RN in the Cardiac Cath Lab, you will work closely with physicians, fellow RNs and other healthcare staff to offer exceptional medical support and attention to all patients within the unit. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. + on‑call with weekend availability and rotating holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in a variety of healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures or LIP in the treatment and management of patient care and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
  • Serve as charge nurse when assigned to ensure efficient operations and continuity of care.
  • Maintain core competency in nursing (CPR, skills labs).
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of hire
  • One year of recent experience as an RN OR Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedure
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Two years of recent experience as an RN
  • One year of critical care experience in a hospital setting
  • Cardiac care experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
  • Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
