Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital in Cleveland, OH is seeking an RN for 3 West Tower Complex Medical Care to provide direct nursing care and coordinate patient needs. You will implement care plans, monitor conditions, and educate patients and families while collaborating with a caring team. The role requires RN licensure with acute care experience; BSN is preferred.

Work hours are days, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. with every other weekend and some holidays.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure.
  • One year of acute care RN experience preferred or required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Evaluate and revise care plans to achieve outcomes.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and families with culturally appropriate materials.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments per protocol.

Hillcrest Hospital’s 3 West Tower Complex Medical Care unit is known for their outstanding communication skills and top-quality patient care. This unit cares for adult and geriatric patients undergoing general, breast, gynecology, pancreatic/liver, and urology surgeries. As an RN in this unit, you will help ensure patients have the care they need quickly. All the while, your fellow caregivers will assist you, offering a cohesive, encouraging and constructive front to enhance the patient's experience and your skills as a nurse.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting
  • Will consider military RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
