Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a registered nurse for the Kemper Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. This 14-bed unit provides 24/7 monitoring for patients with heart conditions, working with Cardiology and Invasive Cardiology teams to deliver high‑quality care.

You’ll join a Magnet hospital with strong patient education, safety programs, and opportunities for loan repayment and tuition reimbursement. The night shift runs 7:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and state RN licensure.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred in Critical Care areas.
• Minimum one year of acute care RN experience or licensed military RN.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in an ICU setting.
• Implement, monitor, and update patient care plans.
• Assess and coordinate discharge needs; educate patients and families.

The Kemper Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is a busy and fast-paced 14-bed Intensive Care Unit that provides 24/7 monitoring of patients suffering from heart diseases and conditions, such as chest pains, heart attacks, or life-threatening irregular heart rhythms. Caregivers in this unit work with the Department of Cardiology and the Invasive Cardiology team, participate in the Code Crimson team, respond to all in-patient rapid responses and Code Blue alarms, and regularly assist in the monitoring and care of patients receiving moderate sedation procedures, such as transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and cardioversions. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

A caregiver in this role works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• *If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of hire
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
