Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Burn and Wound Unit is a 16‑bed center with two dedicated operating rooms and procedures and treatment rooms for the ongoing care of burns and wounds. The St. Elizabeth Burn Center is the region’s only dedicated burn unit and is verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Burn Association (ABA).

Special Designation – Services to Burn Patients and the Community
  • Specialized care, services, equipment and staff trained to treat the most critical burn injuries
  • Leadership in research, education and prevention
  • Resource to area hospitals in the region

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient’s physician, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Monitoring patients’ conditions and assessing their needs
  • Collaborating with physicians and other nurses to devise individualized care plans
  • Administering patients’ medications and providing treatments per physicians’ orders
  • Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
Job Requirements

We are looking for a responsible and compassionate Registered Nurse with top‑notch clinical skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to effectively educate patients and families on home healthcare processes.

Additional Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows practice in our state
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Specialty certification (e.g., CCRN, CNOR, CEN) preferred
  • Additional certification or licensure may be required for some specialty areas
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base rate plus shift differential
  • Incentives: $10,000 sign‑on bonus, up to $10,000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years)
  • Tuition reimbursement: $3,000 for full time, $1,500 for part time
  • Nurse residency program offered for all new graduates

Pay Range

$36.00 – $52.20 per hour
