Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

The Burn and Wound Unit is a 16-bed center with two dedicated operating rooms and procedure and treatment rooms for the ongoing care of burns and wounds. The St. Elizabeth Burn Center is the region’s only dedicated burn unit, verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Burn Association (ABA).

Responsibilities
  • Deliver highest quality patient care according to physicians’ orders.
  • Utilize knowledge and skills to educate patients and families on prevention and healthy habits.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions and assess their needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and provide treatments as ordered.
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and families.
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Specialty certification (e.g., CCRN, CNOR, CEN) preferred.
  • Additional certification or licensure may be required for some specialty areas.
