Job summary

Southcoast Health System, Inc. seeks an RN to join the Bed Placement Unit PD I at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA.

This per diem role covers day/evening shifts with weekend availability and holiday requirements. You will coordinate patient admissions, monitor bed availability, and collaborate with transport, labs, and medical records to ensure high-quality service. A Bachelor of Nursing and MA RN licensure with BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to use bed-tracking system required.
• Knowledge of Teletracking bed system preferred.
• Demonstrated conflict resolution, interpersonal, critical thinking and problem solving skills required.
• A minimum of five years related clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate bed flow and admissions across the system with centralized information.
• Monitor room availability and bed turnover; act as central contact for bed decisions.
• Work with transport, environmental services, laboratory, radiology, dietary and medical records teams to ensure service quality.
• Provide high-level customer service and model culture-related behaviors.
• Perform accurate and timely pre-registration intake interviews.
