Job summary

Sentara Halifax Regional Medical Center seeks a Bedflow Nursing Coordinator to assess and coordinate care planning, patient placement, and transfers on a full-time basis. The role emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to optimize capacity and timely patient movement.

ACLS is required within one year of hire, and a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) is preferred. The position is located in South Boston, VA with a rotating swing shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or 2 years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• ACLS certification required within 1 year of hire date.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience coordinating patient placement and transfers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans for patient populations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to ensure timely patient placement and transfers.
• Communicate capacity management plans to nursing units, leadership, and physicians.
• Serve as a clinical resource during absence of department leader.
