Job summary

The University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide perioperative care in an outpatient OR setting at 1 S. Park St., Madison, WI.

You will utilize your nursing knowledge to ensure safe patient care and contribute to operating room management. Responsibilities include handling procedures across ENT, cataracts, orthopedics, plastics, and other surgeries, with shifts Monday–Friday, 10 hours, no weekends or on-call.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nursing is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • 6 months of relevant OR experience is required; 1 year preferred.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where patients are receiving care.

Responsibilities

  • Assume overall responsibility for management of the operating room to which you are assigned.
  • Provide perioperative nursing care and ensure safe, individualized patient care.
  • Work in outpatient OR settings across ENT, Cataracts, Pain, Hand, Foot, Ortho, General and some GYN, including plastics.
  • Participate in maintaining acuity-based staffing and uphold nursing governance standards.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to:
  • Utilize acquired knowledge and skills related to perioperative nursing care, procedures, and equipment in order to provide safe, individualized patient care.
  • Assume the overall responsibility for management of the operating room to which he/she is assigned.
  • Be part of an outpatient OR setting that performs procedures on patients of all ages and for many types of surgeries, including ENT, Cataracts, Pain, Hand, Foot, Ortho (scopes), General, and some GYN. Plastic surgery cases such as breast augmentations, reductions, abdominoplasties, liposuctions, gender mastectomies, etc.

Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
Work Experience
  • 6 months of relevant clinical experience Required
  • Recent relevant Operating Room experience Preferred - prefer candidates with 1 year of OR experience.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state(s) where patients are receiving care or may work as eligible per state licensing regulations Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months Required
