Job summary

University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 100% FTE perioperative role working at East Madison Hospital in Madison, WI. The position includes 8/12 hour evening/night shifts, Monday–Friday, with no on-call responsibilities.

The RN will care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, and will evaluate care effectiveness against established goals within a collaborative hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 6 months of surgical general care or ED experience required.
• 2 years of independent PACU/ICU/critical care experience preferred.
• Wisconsin RN license upon hire required.
• CPR certification upon hire required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric perioperative patients and their families.
• Evaluate patient responses to care based on effectiveness of nursing interventions in relation to goals.
