Job summary

Insight Health Systems in Flint, MI is seeking an experienced RN Admission Coordinator to join our medical-psychiatric hospital team. The role focuses on coordinating admissions, conducting initial assessments, and ensuring smooth patient intake with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

The successful candidate will collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, social workers, and case management to determine appropriate levels of care, complete documentation, and support discharge planning

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in Michigan.
• Experience in medical-psychiatric hospital or behavioral health setting.
• Strong knowledge of admission procedures, patient assessment and care coordination.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the admission process for patients entering the medical-psychiatric hospital.
• Conduct initial assessments and screenings to determine patient eligibility and level of care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate timely admissions.
• Ensure all admission documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and referral sources throughout the admission process.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospital services, policies, and procedures related to admissions.
• Assist in discharge planning and coordinate with case management as needed.
