Job summary

Forest View Hospital, located near downtown Grand Rapids, MI, seeks an Admissions Registered Nurse to support the admissions process for children, adolescents and adults in a private psychiatric setting. This float role involves working between admissions and the floor with shifts that may be 4-10 hours or 3-12 hours, starting late afternoon through peak admission times.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Michigan.
• 2 years of psychiatric clinical experience preferred.
• COVID-19 vaccination proof or approved exemption.
• Understanding of psychiatric nursing theory and practice.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and review medical history, current medications, and vitals to support admissions.
• Document patients' medical and psychiatric status during assessment and admissions.
• Accompany the patient to the unit and assist with transition to the floor.
• Handle crisis calls, make referrals and complete assessments as needed.
