Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program.
• Nursing licensure under NLC upon hire.
• ACLS course required (AHA or ARC).
• BLS required.
• NIHSS required.
• CPI required within EM 180 days.
• TNCC required within 1-1/2 years.
• PALS required within 1-1/2 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments across age groups.
• Anticipates patient/family needs and develops an appropriate care plan.
• Coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care and communicates with the health care team.
• Prioritizes interventions based on assessments and notifies changes in condition.
• Evaluates interventions and updates the care plan accordingly.
• Adheres to hospital/nursing policies and ANA standards; delivers care with the Pace model.
• Provides education to patients and families; documents education and discharge plans.
• Welcomes and orients patients and families; reviews care plans and updates goals with patient input.
• Core functions may include direct patient care, handling patient records, and other duties as assigned.
