Job summary

Management & Training Corporation operates the Edison Job Corps Center in Edison, NJ, seeking a Registered Nurse to provide medical care and health guidance to students; schedule: days, full-time, Monday-Friday. You must hold a valid RN license in the state and have at least one year of practical nursing experience; a valid driver’s license is required.

The role includes supervising wellness staff, maintaining health records, immunizations, and chronic care management, with equal opportunity

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to students within the scope of practice and as authorized by the medical provider.
• Supervise staff LPNs to ensure compliance with state regulations and the nurse practice act.
• Provide basic healthcare to students and manage immunizations and entry requirements.
• Monitor students with illness and assist with attendance when needed.
• Provide input on staff performance to the HWD for annual evaluations.
• Train wellness staff and new hires as required.
• Contribute to SOP development for the wellness department.
• Coordinate health care and chronic care management for students with chronic illnesses.

Job responsibilities

Medical personnel are responsible for treating and preventing minor injuries and illnesses. They will provide information and guidance for the promotion of good health and well-being of our students.

Essential Functions

• Provide nursing care to students as authorized by the medical provider and within scope of practice for state-specific nurse practice act.
• Provide supervision to the staff LPNsto assure compliance with all state regulations and scope of practice and nurse practice act for practical and/or vocational nurses.
• Provide basic healthcare to students as required by DOL including all entry requirements and immunizations.
• Monitor students with illness and unable to attend class.
• Provide input on staff nurses performance to the HWD for annual evaluations.
• Provide staff training for wellness staff as well as required trainings for new hires and all center staff as needed or in the absence of the HWD.
• Provide input on the development and assistance in the implementation of new and revised standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the wellness department.
• Conduct student health record audits and participate in the continuous quality improvement program to identify needed improvements and employ mechanisms to improve compliance, and assure delivery of quality and effective services to students.
• Conduct coordinated health care for students and implementation of other health related programs. Assure chronic care management including medication management case conferences of all students with chronic illnesses.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Valid, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment
• 1-year practical nursing experience required.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
