Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) seeks an educator at the Edison Point Job Corps Center in Edison, NJ to deliver academic instruction to students using approved curricula and government directives.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree and a valid teaching certificate with youth experience; familiarity with Blackboard is a plus. The position offers a competitive salary of $65,000 annually and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems or study habits; coordinate with other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training.
• Develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
• Utilize workplace language and behavior expectations in the classroom; relate academic skills to career technical training and workplace requirements; inquire if individual students need assistance.
• Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
• Administer and correct tests; maintain progress and attendance reports.
• Great communication skills and able to multi-task.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with students on different levels and different needs.
• Able to implement classroom accommodations for those who need. Year-round program.

What you will be doing

You’ll be responsible providing academic instruction to students in accordance with approved curricula. Provide students with basic direction, in compliance with government and management directives.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Valid teaching certificate, experience with youth, and communication, i ncluding computer-based platforms such as Black Board .
• One (1) year instructional experience preferred.
• A Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
