Nextlink Internet is seeking a dedicated Asset Technician to support testing returned equipment, processing RMAs, and tracking company assets across multiple sites. You will ensure equipment functionality, document results, and maintain precise inventory records in a fast-paced indoor/outdoor environment.
The role requires strong Excel skills, the ability to lift heavy items, and strict adherence to safety policies. A high school diploma or GED and a background check are required.
We are a Hudson Oaks, Texas-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) delivering High Speed Internet and Voice Services throughout multiple states to residential, business, K-12 Education and government customers. Responsible for testing returned equipment (RMA), managing the return process, and tracking company assets. Ensure equipment functionality, maintain accurate records, and manage asset inventory, other duties as assigned.
Test returned equipment, including electrical testing, to diagnose issues and verify functionality. Document and report findings for each tested item. Coordinate with vendors and customers to manage the RMA process. Ensure timely processing and return of defective or repaired equipment.
Maintain accurate inventory records of all company assets. Track the movement and status of equipment across various sites. Ensure proper tagging and documentation of new and existing assets. Conduct periodic audits to verify asset locations and conditions.
Compile and upload detailed reports and documentation for tested equipment. Maintain records of asset inventory, including transfers and disposals. Prepare and submit required paperwork and reports to management using Excel.
Collaborate with team members and leadership to ensure smooth workflow. Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal departments. Provide regular updates on asset status and RMA processing.
Adhere to safety and quality control requirements. Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to vehicle and equipment use. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Strong Excel skills for data tracking and reporting. Ability to lift/pull heavy equipment. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Team-oriented mentality and safety consciousness. Must pass a drug screening test and a criminal background check.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Experience in equipment testing, electrical testing, asset tracking, or related fields. Familiarity with RMA processes and inventory management systems.
Pre-Deployment Non-Exempt
Work primarily in indoor settings with some outdoor activities. Exposure to varying noise levels and use of PPE as required.
Stationary position for extended periods. Frequent movement and handling of objects weighing 50 pounds or more. Regular use of hand and power tools
Full-Time Monday through Friday Occasional weekends required. Overtime as needed. Irregular hours may be required.
10-15% travel required as needed
