Grants Pass School District No. 7 is accepting applications for a Special Education Educational Assistant at Riverside Elementary for the 2026-2027 year. Location is Riverside Elementary School, 182 days per year, August–June, 7 hours daily.

Starting date is immediate. The role supports site-based special education programs and daily instructional assistance. Salary ranges and benefits are included in the posting.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
• Two years of college study.
• An associate’s or higher degree.
• A passing score on the District reading, writing, and math assessment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of and experience with computers.
• Knowledge of business English, spelling and mathematics; some knowledge of office practices and procedures; type at a working rate speed.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees and ability to get along well with students.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Also, one of the following options:
  • Two years of college study.
  • An associate’s or higher degree.
  • A passing score on the District reading, writing, and math assessment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of and experience with computers.
• Knowledge of business English, spelling and mathematics; some knowledge of office practices and procedures; type at a working rate speed.

• Upon selection, employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $78 ODE fingerprinting processing fee.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• $20.02-$28.91 per hour. Dependent on approved accepted experience/education.
• Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon Association of Classified Employees)
• Annual step pay increase awarded to eligible employees
• 6 paid holidays per year
• 2 personal days per year
• 10 paid sick leave days per year
• Bereavement leave, as per bargaining agreement
• Continuing Education Funds, up to $1,200 per year
• Up to $1,624 per month district-paid contribution toward full-family medical, dental, and vision insurance.
• $4,534 per year insurance opt-out stipend for employees who demonstrate other health insurance coverage under a qualifying employer-sponsored group medical plan (more than 6-hour employees), $4,080.60 (4-6-hour employees)
• 6% employee paid contribution towards Oregon Public Employees Retirement System
• Longevity Service Stipend after 10 years of employment ($1,000-$1,600).
