NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).
Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

Duration
This position is funded for up to 520 total hours
MA/MS Degree in Outdoor Recreation Planning, Natural Resources Management, River Ecosystem/Hydrology/Geomorphology, Environmental Studies/Planning with minimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in river/watershed planning and management, environmental review and river resource assessment, project management, and stakeholder and partner engagement and negotiation.
Support NPS Community Assistance (RTCA) and Wild and Scenic River planning and management providing specialized technical expertise to NPS staff in river and watershed planning and management across a variety of landscapes and scales. This technical support will help assure protection of wild and scenic river values and resources working alongside NPS outdoor recreation planners, landscape architects and natural resource specialists. In addition, this technical expertise will enhance river and waterway planning as part of NPS community assistance.
