Job summary
National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) partners with the National Park Service to provide experienced professionals for the ESP program in San Francisco. The River Planner role supports river and watershed planning, environmental review and collaboration with public agencies and communities.
The ideal candidate holds an MA/MS in a relevant field and at least 10 years of river planning experience, with travel considerations as needed.
Qualifications
- MA/MS degree in Outdoor Recreation Planning or related field and minimum 10 years in river/watershed planning and management.
- Experience with environmental review, river resource assessment, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong communication and collaboration across public agencies and communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in wild and scenic river planning and management to NPS staff.
- Review water resource projects and coordinate with NPS on determinations.
- Support staff through research, data gathering, and sharing best practices.
- Assist in meetings with partners to facilitate information sharing and cooperation.
