Kingsboro Psychiatric Center is seeking a Psychologist 1 to function as a Risk Management Specialist within the facility. The role involves investigating incidents, addressing complaints, collecting data, and ensuring regulatory compliance while promoting patient safety and continuous improvement.

The candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills and be prepared to engage in training, environmental rounds, and liaison activities with OMH and NYS Justice Center.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology or equivalent doctoral program.
• Post-master’s supervised clinical psychology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate significant incidents per OMH policies and procedures.
• Interview staff and gather documentation for investigations.
• Coordinate Justice Center interviews with leadership.
• Complete comprehensive incident reports within 30 days.
• Identify causes and trends to inform risk-reduction strategies.
• Conduct risk management training for staff.
• Review forms and ensure accurate NIMRS data entry.
• Serve as liaison between facility, OMH field office, and NYS Justice Center.
• Be on-call during off-shifts and weekends as needed.
